PDFDrive – Online Book Repository

PDFDrive is a vast and growing repository of over 250 million books (at January 2020) in PDF format.
The repository covers virtually every type of topic and the PDF file is FREE to download.

Free Online Learning Websites

Khan Academy offers high quality learning opportunities based on the USA educational curriculum to children and young people from preschool to A-Levels equivalent.

The learning experience includes instructional videos,  practice exercises and a personalized learning dashboard that empowers learners to study at their own pace.

Well structured lessons cover subjects such as science, mathematics, computer programming, economics, history and much more. The website is also an excellent resource for school teachers, parents and outside school tutors, providing them with a platform to support their pupils or wards in maximising their academic potential.

Coursera provides streaming on-demand lectures from top instructors at some of the top universities in the United States of America and around the world and high-calibre practitioners from some of the biggest companies in the world.

These include Yale University, Stanford University, Duke University, the University of Pennsylvania in the USA and Imperial College, London, University of Manchester, University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.

The companies include Google, IBM, PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and more.

Futurelearn offers over 290 University level courses in subjects ranging from science, mathematics and technology to languages, management and political studies. The courses are  presented by leading academics through a variety of methods including videos, articles and interactive quizzes.

You can take short vocational learning courses all the way up to Masters Degree certifications. You also leverage the power of the learning community to enhance your learning experience.

The courses are provided by a network of world class partner universities  and specialist organisations including the Open University, Leeds University, Henley Business School and the Chartered Management Institute in the United Kingdom.

OpenLearn is the online portal through which the Open University in the United Kingdom, one of the world’s foremost distance learning institutions offers over 1,000 courses for free.

The subjects offered include science, technology and mathematics, health, sports psychology, business and management studies, languages, history and the arts.

The courses are offered through the Open University’s proven and globally respected blended learning methods that include interactive videos, online study materials and assessments (digital badges) to evidence your progress.

Udemy hosts the world’s largest selection of courses, numbering over 100,000 online video courses.

The selection comprises both paid and FREE courses in a vast array of subjects.

edX is another very good option for free online education. It provides just over 2,400 University level courses from some of the best Universities in the world.

These include Massachusets Institute of Technology (MiT), Harvard University, Berkeley University of California in the USA; Imperial College, London and Oxford University in the United Kingdom; University of Adelaide in Australia, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and many more.

edX offers full online courses with teachers, discussion boards, quizzes etc. Whilst they have a wide range of courses that spans sciences, business management, the humanities and languages, it appears that edX tends to excel at courses in Mathematics, the Sciences and Engineering.
